Pablo D.T. Valenzuela. President of the Board.
Biochemist from Universidad de Chile, with a Ph.D. degree in Chemistry from Northwestern University and Posdoctoral training at the University of California in San Francisco. Pablo is a renowend scientist-entrepreneur. Cofounder and Chief Scientist of Chiron Corporation and other biotech companies such as GrupoBios S.A., Austral Biologicals and Ventria Bioscience. Responsible for the development of several biotech products and inventor in more than 50 international patent applications. Member of the Chilean Academy of Sciences and recipient of the Chilean National Award in “Ciencias Aplicadas y Tecnológicas 2002”.
Luis Burzio. Chief Scientific Officer and member of the Board of Directors.
Biochemist from Universidad de Concepción with Posdoctoral training at Rockefeller University. Luis is one of the top Molecular Biologists in Chile, he discovered Andes' core anti-cancer technology. Senior Investigator of Fundación Ciencia para la Vida. Professor at Universidad Andrés Bello and previously chairman of the Instituto de Bioquímica and Research Vice-President of Universidad Austral. Dr. Burzio is inventor of more than 20 patents and patent applications. Among his numerous awards he was honoured with the “Biotechnology for Human Health” Prize, given by Institut Pasteur in 2004.
Arturo Yudelevich. Member of the Board of Directors.
Biochemist from Universidad de Chile with a Ph.D. degree in Molecular Biology from the Albert Einstein School of Medicine in New York and postdoctoral training at the MRC of Molecular Biology Laboratory in Cambridge, England. He has authored more than 30 publications in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology. Dr. Yudelevich was until recently the cofounder and CEO of GrupoBios, the largest biotech company in Chile where he currently is a Director and Executive Vice President. He has also hold Professorships at Universidad de Chile and Universidad Católica de Chile.
Alexander Seelenberger. Member of the Board of Directors.
General Partner at Aurus Bios Venture Capital. Until recently, Alex worked for Athelera, an M&A boutique firm based in New York City. Previously, he worked as a consultant for The Boston Consulting Group focusing mainly in the pharmaceutical, financial services and mining industries in Latin America. He has also been a professor at graduate and undergraduate level at the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEN) of the University of Chile. Alex holds an MBA – Baker Scholar – from Harvard Business School and a Business Administration degree from Universidad de Chile.
Felipe Camposano. Member of the Board of Directors.
General Partner at Austral Capital. Felipe also serves as President of ASEMBIO (The Chilean Biotechnology Association) and advisor at CORFO (The Chilean development agency). He currently holds board seats at Bio Architecture Lab Inc. and Lucien Biotechnologies S.A. (which he co-founded). Prior to joining Austral, Felipe directed New Business Development at Fundación Chile where he created and invested in new technology based companies.
